Selecting fonts that look good with your web site can be a time consuming task. At Web Builder Express, we want to make sure you get a professional web site that is easy to maintain and is useful for your visitors.
When it comes to fonts, fancy is not better! Just because you see a font and think "wow, that is cool" - does not mean that it is a good choice for your web site.
In fact, the simpler the font, the better. Look at any professionally designed web site, magazine, or newspaper, and you will see that they use a very small set of simple, easy-to-read fonts.
Generally speaking, Arial and Tehoma are good - they are simple and easy to read.. Park Avenue and Broadway are bad - they are complex and hard to read. Use fancy fonts like Park Avenue and Broadway only if you have a very specific reason to do so (i.e. you run a limousine service, or you are putting on a broadway show). And even then, use them only in a very limited way, such as in your web site header.
Also, it is critical to limit your web site to just one or two fonts. Just because you can have 72 different fonts doesn't mean that you should. If you have too many fonts, you get a 'ransom note' effect, which is very unprofessional.
By standard convention, the body text of your web site should generally be Arial - NOT one of these fancy fonts.
However, you can select from these fonts for use in your header graphic only.
